Literature Text

In you, I can see sometimes,
The glint in the eyes of my Dad.
Reminding me of happy times,
And the childhood that I had.

Smart, strong, yet oh so sweet,
A rascal like my own son.
Quick witted and fast on your feet,
Surely, my heart you have won.

We are kindred spirits you and I,
Driven by what's in our hearts.
With an energetic love of freedom,
Life's gifts, and passion for the arts.

Sometimes you are the little boy,
"Gram, rub my head while I sleep."
Yet with those who try to rob your joy,
You see things so sharply and deep.

To say you make me proud as can be,
Well, it barely scratches the surface.
As the happiness you bring to me,
When I see your dear smiling face.

That you are loved, I hope you know.
To my heart, you'll always hold the key.
So strive, stay strong, and grow,
For you are part of my legacy.

A poem written for my beloved grandson, who is my biggest fan, and one day said "when are you going to write a poem about your grandson?" This ones for you, kiddo.
Love, Gram
