Oh, what a lovely cool breeze.
Leaves are rustling in the trees.
The bushes all hang full with flowers,
Lushly green from many rain showers.
Sips of coffee to start my day.
I watch as butterflies fly away.
Outside birds sing to mine inside.
The urge to write seems to coincide.
Moments of peace and quietude,
Bring welcome changes in attitude.
Another year and change in season,
Time taking leave without a reason.
My cats lie calm in a big arm chair,
The outside porch their favorite lair.
I am left with my thoughts to ponder.
How long will it take I often wonder.
When will love come to find me?
It should be simple, but is yet to be.
Has that chapter passed me by?
I've given it more than a fair try.
And yet I feel that you are near.
I keep the faith and have no fear.
One day when it is meant to be.
You will come and stay with me.
